Happy Tuesday

On this day. Things changed.

I now have a car in my name. CRAZY!

This morning, I traveled home, got to see an amazing old friend and spend some time with my dad. There is nothing like catching up with a friend who I haven’t seen in a couple of months and hanging out with my dad who I love so much. Granted, my dad and I only ran errands, but just hanging out with him is super fun.

Okay, okay, back to the growing up part…

Is this what it feels like to grow up? I find myself growing up a little bit more every day. I have thought that I am a mature person for my age, but I am finding out so much that I was missing of being an adult.

Quite honestly, I love this growing thing. Along with the love of being independent, I also host lots of fear and worry in me because I sometimes wonder if I can do this. This thing called life, that is. I wonder if I can make it on my own.

There is so much that I have to learn about budgeting money, planning for the due dates of bills, building a savings account, all while learning to have a little bit of fun as well. It is a constant balancing act and at this time, I feel like I’m doing okay. Surprisingly, I’m feeling fairly confident in my financial planning, but there will always be some underlying uncertainties.

Now I own my own car. Wow. It’s exciting and awesome and terrifying! But fun.

So…even though it is almost the end of the day, Happy Tuesday! I hope your day was as good as mine.

Long Time, No See

I know, I know…I have been gone for a loooonnnnngggg time! As I have mentioned before, I have recently moved to Charlotte and started a couple new jobs that have occupied my time. Everything is going incredibly well and I’m loving a change of pace in Charlotte. I have been meeting all sorts of wonderful people who I know I will create great friendships with over the course of the following months.

Anyway, to catch you up on my recent life changes, I do have to tell you that I have been growing tomatoes. They started as little, bitty plants that looked like there was no hope for them.

Today, when I went outside to water them and to check on their progress, I literally squealed with delight.

I have…a FLOWER!!! It is about darn time!

And…it isn’t the only one! It looks like I will be having some tomatoes in the near future and I couldn’t be happier! Yum! 🙂

I promise, it won’t be long before I return, and I’ll make sure to share with you photos of the tomatoes that are to follow.
